Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham continues to be our core base but we plan to provide services to other boroughs in London and influence Service development across the country. PPC has a distinguished history of pioneering User led, child centered and culturally appropriate approaches to HIV and AIDS.

Vision

PPC is a dynamic and innovative organisation that is pioneering user-led, child-centred and culturally appropriate approaches to HIV ands AIDS. We work with a range of strong sustainable and dynamic partnerships in the statutory and voluntary sectors to ensure that children and families receive a well-planned, co-ordinated, holistic service that has a long-lasting and measurable impact on their health and well being.

Mission

PPC’s mission is to provide support to all children, young people and families whose lives are affected by disability, illness and mental health problems. Its current primary aim is to provide support to those affected by HIV.

Values

Promoting equality:

  • We will actively involve, listen and respect the input of our service users and all other stakeholders
  • We will actively promote the right of children including to have appropriate information and support about their HIV status ,to be afforded the same protection as other children and have their needs recognised and met
  • To ensure the staff team including senior management reflect our client group

Learning:

  • We will be a leading source of knowledge through monitoring , evaluation , dissemination and continuous learning
  • As a learning organisation we will continue to develop links with similar organisations and networks in the UK, Europe and elsewhere, in order to share experiences and lessons learnt, which we document and disseminate through our publications and Website

Challenging:

  • To advocate for continuing and improved resources to meet the needs of our service users
  • To continually challenge ourselves and others to ensure children living in families with HIV /Aids are afforded the same protection as other children , by working together to implement child protection policies as sensitively and effectively as possible

PPC’s reputation and profile has increased through a consistent high quality of work and it is now the leading specialist HIV children’s agency in the UK providing family support, crèche and children’s group services. As most of the families using PPC’s services are multiply disadvantaged and socially excluded, we aim to increase awareness and reduce stigma by campaigning and advocating on behalf of children and families affected by HIV and AIDS.
